margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><strong>The Ballad of Ben Cartwright<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ben travelled the prairies from the East to the West.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">With his sons, one a baby, and pride filled his chest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Two wives he would leave in the cold, earthen clay.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: center; margin-bottom: 0cm;\">His determination was fierce, as he made his own way.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ben said No, Nay, Never.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Will my boys not survive.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I&#8217;ll protect them and love them<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: center; margin-bottom: 0cm;\">As long as l am alive.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For Ben saw a vision, mountains tipping the sky.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Of a lake of blue water where eagles did fly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Where Pine trees grew taller than he&#8217;d ever seen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Wher\u00ade lush grass it grew in many colours of green.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ben said, No&#8230;Nay&#8230;Never.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Will it be long<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Till\u00a0l find this heaven<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Where\u00a0my boys could grow strong<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">On reaching Nevada Ben knew it was right.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Near the banks of the Tahoe, a wonderful sight.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">His claim he set down, and he roared this is mine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Ponderosa, he named from the tall growing pine<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: center; margin-bottom: 0cm;\">Ben said, my roots l have planted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: center; margin-bottom: 0cm;\">My journey is ore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I&#8217;ve two sons here beside me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But there&#8217;s room for one more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">To New Orleans, on a visit, it&#8217;s there he did find<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A mama for the boys that he&#8217;d left behind.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Bull of The Ponderosa, sure got the job done.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In less than a year, Ben had his third son.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: center; margin-bottom: 0cm;\">Ben prayed, No&#8230;Lord help me,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Please ease my pain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Alas, he was forsaken.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A widower again.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The house was improved under Adam&#8217;s design.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And when it was finished it all looked so fine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Hop Sing in the kitchen, cooked dinners, made tea.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ben was the proudest of men in the whole Territory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: center; margin-bottom: 0cm;\">The Ponderosa, now\u00a0is no vision,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It is a reality.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It is my three son&#8217;s future.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It&#8217;s their legacy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">To &#8216;The Ponderosa&#8217; young women, flocked all aglow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">To dance with dark Adam, big Hoss, an young Joe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Sometimes though the boys, stood, jaws gaping ajar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Coz, the gal took a shine to their silver haired Pa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: center; margin-bottom: 0cm;\">\u00a0&#8220;Pa, aint yer to old to be petting?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now don&#8217;t be getting upset&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ben said, &#8220;Boys, this grey haired, old, sea dog.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">There&#8217;s life in him yet.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Cartwright&#8217;s bred horses, milled lumber, raised beef.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Good times were assured, though Ben still had some grief.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Ponderosa grew wealthy on Cartwright&#8217;s sweat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In spite of marauders and the odd Injun threat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ben said, NO, We wont be discouraged.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We won&#8217;t be undone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Boys, once those chores, have been tended.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">There&#8217;s a ranch to be run.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: center; margin-bottom: 0cm;\">Cartwright, the name stood for everything right.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For love, and for family&#8230;for fight the good fight.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">These four men were trusted by one and by all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When justice was threatened.
