Joe. ‘I ain’t acting strangely Pa.’ He jumped up suddenly. ‘There’s Sadie!’ he exclaimed, pointing out of the window to the Saloon opposite where, sure enough, Sadie was walking along the sidewalk towards the Silver Dollar.

‘So what?’ replied Adam. ‘She always works in there in the afternoons, doesn’t ‘What?’ asked Joe finally. ‘I was only saying how nice Sadie is.’ He shot a hurt look in his father’s direction.

‘Don’t be so stupid
