Another of my favourites of you. I like your mature approach of an old theme. It’s so much adam, and so much ben, but it reads new and interesting — and mature.

I’m so glad this story popped up again. I know I’ve read it long ago and, like you said, Krystyna, it was wonderful to revisit a quiet evening on the Ponderosa. This is a lovely piece of lessons and memories. I was thinking that final fadeout scene of the quiet room could also be from a memory long ago…
I wrote this so long ago, even before I even thought of Captain Cartwright going off on his adventures…so it is really a refreshing change to be reminded, not only of this story, but of the times in which it was written..and thank you for commenting on it, AC …🌺

That was really very special… a word painting giving deep insights into a father’s parenting style of finding teachable moments, and into the ethics and personality of a young man who doesn’t want to win if he hasn’t earned it. And all using a simple game as your canvas. I’m so very glad I stumbled across this today! Thank you for sharing it.
