Really good! I could tell that you put a lot of effort into this, which made it a wonderful story and I’m adding it to my favorites list. My favorite part in this was Adams poem for his mother and how Ben kept it pinned in his vest and close to his heart; that hit close to home for me.*sniffle, sniffle* Thanks for writing and posting, keep up the good work!

That poem just poured out from someone who is not very good at writing poetry I’m afraid, but somehow, writing as though by Adam it came so easily, I could so feel what I was writing down. I feel sorry for Harry, thankfully he’s out of his own misery.
I must also say, my heart was warmed as Ben remembered each of his late wives, and the last scene as he and his eldest sat around the fire… Those are memories to have and to hold.

More than pleased that you liked the way Ben remembered his wives and that last scene, which was essential for tying up all the loose ends and letting us see the love between those two men. Another great story, Krystyna. I remember reading it before in the old BB library. After reading so many FF stories it’s hard to remember them all so I read this one again. Believe it or not, I enjoyed it even more this time; the humor, the beautiful poem that Adam wrote about his mother, the signs of affection all 3 sons gave their Pa, and you showed what kind of a man Ben really was. Well done.

I like the picture that BWF has chosen for this story, it certainly must have summed up how Ben was feeling at the start of the story… or rather, just prior to the start of the story.
