I don’t think anyone else has spent so much time thinking back over how the Cartwrights (and the Stoddards) came to be. An enjoyable reminder of the complexity of events as America was colonized–and so enthralling it wouldn’t have needed to be linked to anything else to keep its treasured place in my library! Thank you so much!

Writing it was quite an adventure and totally fascinating, at times it was hard to stop concentrating on particular characters who seemed to become rather larger than life in their sections and didnt seem to want to be constrained to their few chapters. That was an incredible journey of a family that we care about so much. I have to agree with Miss Kitty in that your research in this story is amazing. Each family member came alive as did their story. I can certainly see Adam continuing the journey with the pieces of information he has now. And perhaps even make sure as many stories as possible are told to future generations. Thank you for creating this wonderful tale that gives us so much more insight into the Cartwright family.
A simply fascinating look at the history of our men, Krystyna!! The research required for such an undertaking must have been massive. This is a truly talented piece of writing and I thoroughly enjoyed it!! The quiet moments with father and son were wonderful and cozy, I felt as if I was there looking over their shoulders as they discovered secret after secret! Great job as usual!!
I really enjoyed writing this story, Miss Kitty, the research was fascinating and tying in dates of the characters with the historical events was like working in a jig saw. The massacre of the colonists by de Montcalms Indians was graphically shown in Last of the Mohicans but there was so much more involved…and all part of our Cartwrights family history! Thank you so much for such a great review
