I'm a historical archaeologist who loves westerns and Bonanza is my favorite. I wrote my first Bonanza story in 2006 and the plot bunnies are still hopping. The majority of my stories include the entire family and many are prequels set during the period when Ben and Marie were married.

  1. Enjoyed this. Found myself chuckling in a few places. I can understand Ben’s wanting to prove he still has what it takes but I hope he stays home next year. Its a sight more comfortable than beans, trail dust, sleeping on the ground, spending a night in jail and having one of your sons bail you out.

  2. Nice story that does justice to one of my favorite lines from an episode. You painted a colorful picture of life on the trail and I could feel every muscle spasm! Loved how you ended the story, Patina.
