As always, you’ve got the boys so in character that I feel like I’m watching an episode.  Shoot, next time I watch Death At Dawn, I’ll probably be surprised when the ending doesn’t go like it does here, lol!Great job as always, P!Author’s Response: Thank, SP, for taking the time to read this story. Wow–thank you for such an amazing review! I’m so glad you found the story plausible, given the forum discussion in regard to Death at Dawn. It’s always risky to tinger with a much-loved episode but I’m glad I took that chance. Again, I’m thrilled to know you enjoyed my story.*

I'm a historical archaeologist who loves westerns and Bonanza is my favorite. I wrote my first Bonanza story in 2006 and the plot bunnies are still hopping. The majority of my stories include the entire family and many are prequels set during the period when Ben and Marie were married.

  1. A tense episode to be sure, taking such a huge gamble with Ben’s life. This was an enjoyable read. I’ve wondered myself what would have happened if Hoss and Joe hadn’t sided with Adam.

  2. Poor Adam… he always tries to do his best but his brothers didn’t help at all this time. Not even Hoss.. his, “My mother” had to hurt as much as Joe’s, “My father…”

    1. Thank you, Beej. Adam was torn between carrying out Perkins’ sentence and running out into the night to get his father back. I’m glad to know you enjoyed this WHI for a much loved episode.
