Excellent! Really enjoyed your story – full of good Cartwright drama. Interesting new characters, but more importantly, you make the originals ring true. Thanks for a good read!! Jane

Author’s Response:
I’m so glad you enjoyed it enough to force yourself to stop before it was over to tell me how much you were enjoying it! 😀 Really, I’m glad! Even if I did take nearly a year to reply! Doh! Why is it I’m always playing catch up? 😉

Oh I don’t know how I was able to stop but I did because I had to tell you. I am only half way through and I am so drawn in that I don’t want to stop. I fought with myself to tell you. ; ) . I can’t wait to finish! Thanks for such a gray story as I really am enjoying it!. Dana

Congratulations, freya – you made it a year and got all those crazy words incorperated into your story. Nice job!
Author’s Response:
…and they waited nearly another year to say thank you! How in the heck is it nearly 2 years have passed since I wrote that first chapter? It’s incomprehensible! Time really does go faster and faster as we get older, doesn’t it? sigh…. Writing this story was quite a ride. Every month was met with anticipation…and trepidation. What words would I get, and where would they take me? I’m so glad I avoided the great cheese fiasco by turning in my wild cards! lol! 😉

Just want to repeat what I said in the thread:
I’m surprised that, again, I enjoyed a story with a suffering Joe so much — but I should know by now, that I can do it if it’s as masterfully done as you do it. Thank you very much for sharing your tremendous talents with us!
And I still love how you “rounded” the story by beginning and ending with Joe’s delirious dreams — which have a completely different, consoling quality at the end.
Author’s Response:
I just discovered I never replied to this! Thank you so much, faust! I was thrilled to pull you along on this one! Fortunately, I did bring in some heavy Adam scenes to keep you sated! 😉

Totally enthralled with how you wove the intricate patterns of Joe’s subconscious attempting to deal with reality, or not, all to ensure he survived his ordeal.
A wonderful story comprised of loss, fear, hope, betrayal, redemption, and survival.
Author’s Response:
Thank you! It was interesting to discover what happened while digging through those muddled thoughts of his. I’m glad you enjoyed the journey! 😉

This beautiful story is filled with a litany of illustrations. The similes and metaphors paint clear vistas of the suffering Joe felt as well as the weather and the Schultz family.
The colorful dialogue
attributed to Dusty that surfaced in Hoss’s and Adam’s thoughts is a picturesque work
of art. Your tapestry of words and phrases are so vivid and ring true as clear as a bell.
The Cartwright family dynamic is as magnificent as it can be.
Great story! “Shoot him, Adam! Shoot himmmm!”
I’m glad you liked it! And yep, he sure shouldn’t have hesitated. 😉
Once again re-reading. I think this is one of my favorites for its emphasis on belief and faith and just being a rousing good yarn!
Thank, McFair! It was awfully fun—and hard and challenging—to write! I’m glad it stands the test of time and you find it worth re-reading. ?
TENSE TENSE TENSE Phew !!!!

At one stage i felt like just grabbing Adams gun and yelling at him enough of the talk just shoot him !!!
Lol
