Ahh – that hit the spot like only an SJS fix can. You always know how to pack a lot into a short package. And I see that there is a sequel already!
Author’s Response:
I know exactly what you mean! SJS is like a good piece of chocolate right when you need it most! 😉 I’m glad you enjoyed this chocolate! 🙂

Thank God for Southplains! But I think she should of nudged you harder for a longer one. You know me, I always want more, especially if I like it. The connection between Joe and his family is a powerful thing and I enjoyed how you used it here. Very well done.
Author’s Response:
Thank you for your enthusiasm! It is highly appreaciated! 🙂 And, yep! I think we’re all thankful for SP! 😀 As for a longer one…I did write another one, carrying on where this leaves off…and it’s longer than this one. Sigh. I had more to say, after all! 😉 I posted it today, titled, “Holding to Hope.”

Three cheers for Southplains without whom we’d have never had this little gem of suffering Joe. Beautifully written Freya – thank you. I loved it.
Author’s Response:
Yep! We owe it all to her! 😉 I do have to say, once she stung me with that little inspiration bug, I did enjoy writing the scene. I’m glad you found it enjoyable as well!

Great scene, freya. You played it well. We must be thinking alike right now. (I’m writing a story and my bartender’s name is Rudy also.) Great minds thing alike, I guess.
Author’s Response:
Great minds, indeed! 😉 I must have “channeled” you when I pulled that name out of the ether! 😉 I’m glad you enjoyed this!

It is only human to give up on faith, at times. But it is human to stll hold onto hope. But when hope turns into reality, can one have the faith to foregive?
Great story!

Loved this story, freya. Holding to hope; such a powerful thought. I liked how you repeated the phrase for each character and gave it new meaning each time. Very well done.

Wonderful sequel!! Thoroughly appreciated the whole piece – the foregiveness given in between the dramatic h/c we all love. Excellent way o finish it up – thank you!! Jane

Thank you for continuing the story. I enjoyed it immensely. Good depiciton of the challenge in holding true to faith and forgiveness when put to the test. It is one thing to know that we are asked to have faith and to forgive, but it is another to actually fulfill the command or to even admit our weakness and failure to follow.

HOPE, FAITH, the two don’t allways go hand in hand yet, how can you have one without the other. Good story, thankyou.

Over and over again your stories send the Cartwrights on journeys of the spirit–and the soul–every bit as exciting as any shootout or thwarted bank-robbery! It was a delight to watch this gem emerge from your imagination and a privilege to be invited to help!
“One Bullet” may well be all Joe needed but we lesser mortals are very glad to see this second story sprout from that celebrated drabble. Thank you for sharing this with us all!!
Author’s Response:
😀 Thank you so very much for helping me make sure to get this ‘right’! 😉
Wonderful story about faith, hope, love, forgiveness, and redemption. This story portrayed the Cartwright’s love. Thank you.
great story.
This is a great story of faith, love and hope.
Not sure how many times I have read this. I love your stories – all of them! Thanks!
