  1. This is a riveting story exploring the intense emotions and responses of Adam and Joe’s relationships through many years. Yet their beautiful love shines radiantly. It explores Joe’s insecurities and fears brilliantly and Adam’s unquestionable love of his brother. Ignorance of illnesses often causes people to lose their humanity. I love how Joe’s family is always there to love, care, and support him. It is deeply poignant yet wonderfully heartwarming as it brought tears to my eyes.

    1. Ah Rosaly, what a beautiful review. The kind every writer of any genre would love to receive. Thank you so much. I loved writing this story. It started as a short story and was so well received and so many wanted the short story expanded that it grew into this story …and I upset a few with the introduction with Joe and Adam fighting as they were….thank you so much, I am so very glad that you enjoyed it so much. Thank you……

  2. I don’t know how I missed this but I’m glad I found it. What an intense time for Adam and Joe. Despite troubles and antics in their daily lives, no enemy will break their brotherly bond. As the story progressed I held my breath word by word, and finally released it at the end, with a bit of misty eye. Well done, my friend. I enjoyed reading this.

    1. Thank you so very much, AC..I have such fond memories of writing this story .. it started as one of the short weekly writing exercises that Bonanza1 started with (inspired by Emmy of Bonanzaworld fame) I just wrote the stagecoach stopping at the way station and the boys sending them off…but readers wanted to have more of the story so I had to flesh it out to what it became… I am so glad you found it, even more so that you enjoyed it so much and left me this super comment. Thank you, my friend…

  3. I read this one before, must not have commented, I just love how caring Adam is with Joe, lots of sadness but very well done, great end!!

    1. Beth, thank you so much for your review. This was one of my earliest ‘long’ stories and I was always very proud of it so getting a review for it now, all these years later gives me such a good feeling. A good story is like good wine, it improves with age …or so it seems. Thank you, again.

  4. I remember when my sister and I first discovered Bonanza Fanfiction, and became members and contributors to the short story writings on Bonanza One! This was one of my favorite stories then, and now.
I love how it begins with a typical Joe and Adam fight, is interspersed with memories of what may have drawn the brothers apart, but most of all, reminded them how irreplaceable they are to one another.
A beautiful story, with stark detail and deep emotion.

    1. Oh I didn’t receive notification of this lovely review, CarrieC, I am so sorry to be so late in responding. Yes, this story started as a short on the FFE’s on Bonanza1 and then grew into a full length story which I just loved writing. Thank you for such generous words and thank you for the reminder of the ‘good old days’ of Bonanza1

  5. What an awesome story! I love the way you captured the details of Joe and Adam’s relationship with all its fire and passion. I felt so sorry for that poor family and you really gave a true sense of the panic and fear that comes with the unknown. Great job!

    1. Thank you so much, questfan, I really love the fact that you felt the emotions involved by all the characters in this story. It is always encouraging to a writer to read such a complimentary review for one of their stories, thank you.

    1. So glad you enjoyed this Adam and Joe story, it was a lovely surprise to seeyour review this morning, thank it. It was a great start to a Monday morning ..

    1. Thank you so much Lizzie…I loved writing this story, it wrapped so much up within itself…Adam and Joe’s relationship, fears of the unknown, Hop Song’s loving kindness. I am so pleased you enjoyed reading it too. Thanks again.
