The story you wove was a masterpiece of suspense and sorrow.  I loved how with all that Adam was going through, you could still put in a snippet of Little Joe  and life on the Ponderosa to lighten the mood, before the darkness descended again.

The story was crafted well enough to give more insight into the man Adam Cartwright would become, and why.

Thank you so much for posting this wonderful story here Krystyna. I always enjoy reading about Ben’s past with Elizabeth. Eli was an evil character, yet at the same time I felt some pitty for him, at least in the first half of the story. An excellent all around story that is worth re-reading.

Author’s Response: Hi Sabina, many thanks for this review on one of my favourite prequels. Yes Eli was a pitiful creature initially but then degenerated to miserable depths. I really appreciated your input. By co-incidence I’ve just watched Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and got a chuckle at seeing your user name … I’m presuming its from one of the characters there?
