Loved the visuals during the poker game, the arrow lighting the match, the random shooting that scored unintentionally . . . right down to the ending. All of it delightful!*

This was an enjoyable read. Leave it to Joe to bring a story to life!
Thank you, wx4rmk, for letting me know you enjoyed the story!
Worthy to be read again and again and again….
Thank you, Broken Flower!
Hee! This was great! And I loved the twist at them end, it made it all fall into place. I can see why Pa and the boys might have been s little worried about him, though … ?
Thanks for writing!
That’s the best “bad first line” I’ve ever read. 😉 I had to read this story after you posted your excerpt in the favorites thread. Your depictions of the unflappable poker players had me chuckling throughout, especially the image of Newt dousing a flaming arrow with a well-aimed spew of tobacco juice! Wonder what Adam knows that Joe doesn’t? Thanks for the laugh, Patina. 🙂
Priceless. Wonderful story! I can’t believe I missed reading this story before.
And just what did happen to all that money? 🙂
Thank you, BWF! I’m sure Adam will hang onto that little secret as long as he can. 😉
