No wnder Joe loves these things.  Adam and his best girl are gonna have a good ole time while the parents are away. Peggy’s a lucky girl… my sitters never looked like that!Author’s Response: Thank you, Beej! I’m so glad to know you enjoyed this story and the suspense kept you reading to find out what happened. I never had a sitter that looked like Adam either. Drat! Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed this story.*

No wonder Joe always had his nose stuck in one of these! I could just imagine Adam and Peggy sitting beneath a tree, whiling away the afternoon while the story played out in Adam’s resonant voice.  Great job!Author’s Response: Thank you, SP! Joe certainly loved adventure, didn’t he? I’m thrilled to know you can “see” Adam and Peggy enjoying this story.*

Adam’s at his best (even though his part in the whole story isn’t as big as  would prefer it… LOL) — I love seeing his mischivous side. Peggy does have the best babysitter ever. With or without the fantastic dime novel…Author’s Response: Thank you, faust! Can’t you just “see” Adam and Peggy having a good time with this tale? I’m so pleased to know you enjoyed the story.*

And thank you for providing a place to have fun writing. Sorry about the mess in the tents, but s’mores aren’t the neatest treats. I hope you’ll enjoy this tale as much the next time you read it.

I'm a historical archaeologist who loves westerns and Bonanza is my favorite. I wrote my first Bonanza story in 2006 and the plot bunnies are still hopping. The majority of my stories include the entire family and many are prequels set during the period when Ben and Marie were married.

  1. It took me 10 years to re-read this story on a cold winter’s night in front of the fire(place) … but I did it! Enjoyed every word the second time around as much or more than the first.
