Such a sad but beautiful story. In my own little world, I always pretend that Hoss never died, but you did a beautiful job with portraying what Ben, Adam, and Joe must have felt. What an emotional little scene. Such a difficult time for them, trying to say goodbye to what they were—and undeserved guilt only makes things worse. Ben’s patience and love is paying off, though. And that last little section … ?

I thought the opening section, revealing Ben’s emotions was very strong. The middle left me wanting more, both of the brothers’ feelings and the circumstances that led to their sense of guilt. However, the final section, written from Hoss’s perspective, was beautiful and provided a perfect conclusion.
