This project is dedicated to preserving the Legacy of authors who wrote stories specifically for the TV Series, The Ponderosa –a prequel to Bonanza. Writers disappear for a variety of reasons; the majority are due to e:mail address changes with no forwarding address, some are due to the author’s death, while others can be attributed to websites closing down / crashing, and a few due to real-life responsibilities or a loss of interest.
Normally, we would only archive stories with permission. Bonanza is not the only fandom to have lost many early-era authors. After speaking with administrators from other fandom fanfiction sites, we have decided to change our policy. Brand now considers it our responsibility to preserve Bonanza stories written by its fans. If not granted a new home, these stories would be lost to readers. To prevent this from happening, the Brandsters will archive as many stories as possible in the Bonanza Brand Fanfiction Library in a new section specifically dedicated to Preserving Their Legacy – The Ponderosa.
The authors included in this project have been found via the WayBackMachine.org or forwarded by members who downloaded copies of these stories years ago.
The Brandsters acknowledge that the authors are the owners of their stories. Should an author included in the project reach out to us and indicate they do not wish their work to be archived in the Bonanza Brand Fanfiction Library, we will remove their stories. We would also be happy to change the e:mail address for any authors who wish to continue to have their stories archived in the Library.

We have only recently learned of the website housing these stories, and will be working to include more into the Bonanza Brand Fan Fiction Library.
