* Day 7 *

The Brightest Gift

In the heart of the Ponderosa, where the pine trees touch the sky
Adam Cartwright walks alone, as Christmas draws nigh.
With thoughts of joy and family, he wanders through the snow,
To find the perfect Christmas gift, where the mountain winds do blow.

A miner’s lamp, long forgotten, in an old abandoned mine,
Catches Adam’s keen eye, its glow a gentle shine.
He takes the lamp, its history rich, of miners brave and bold,
Who trusted in its steadfast light, in the mines of old.

As the Cartwrights gather around the fire, their hearts filled with cheer,
Adam shares the lamp’s bright tale, to all who gather near.
This lamp, he says, is more than light, it’s hope that never ends,
A symbol of the strength we find, in family and friends.

The miner’s lamp flickers, but never dies down,
In the heart of the earth, it’s a jewel in a crown.
For if the flame is ever extinguished, unhealthy air is here
Allowing miners time to escape, before they all disappear.

With every twinkle of the flame, an unyielding promise is made,
For in safety and hope, the miner’s fears start to fade.
Adam’s rich voice, like the lamp’s steady glow,
Brings comfort and courage where shadows start to grow.

So on this night, the Cartwrights see the beauty that it brings,
A Christmas bright with hope and love, where every heart sings.
The miners’ stories echo still, in every glitter and gleam,
Of courage, love, and unity, fulfilling every dream.
