A funny story but I could persuade me to watch that episode again. So I´m not a expert with all hints but the absurdity is very well captured.

Lol! Okay, dogs and girls I can understand, but roping cats!? This story was hysterical. I’m so glad Dodo had a birthday :0)
Author’s Response: Thank you, bahj! You never know–maybe a cat was chasing a bird and Joe just happened to lasso the cat (lol). I’m thrilled to know you enjoyed this bit of silliness.

What a wonderful retelling of the story, Tirza should have originally be found in water (like a fish), not laying in boulders.
And shame on YOU for threatening Cochise with having Hoss ride him for a week! Thankfully I was not drinking anything when I read that line ;0)
Author’s Response: Thank you, Anonymous! Tirza sure was hung up on that whole fish thing, wasn’t she? LOL about Hoss riding Cochise. I’m glad to know you enjoyed this silly tale.

My first thought was: NO, not a Tirza story. I’m in no mood for fish and tree.
My second thought was: Thanks heaven a blue dress.
Through the whole story I laught my a*s of. Yes, you captured our Joe in the right way. To get in love and to get out love in only seconds. Thanx for this funny story. JoeC
Author’s Response: LOL, JoeC! Thank you so much for staying with this story and reading to the end. Joe often fell in love as soon as he saw a pretty smile. Tirza just happened to be pretty, along with crazy (lol). Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed this.

Author’s Response: Thank you, faust! I’m so pleased to know you enjoyed this silly little story. At least Tirza now sleeps with the fishes (lol).

From the solemn ceremony of the matchstick to “Cartwright, Joe Cartwright,” he said as he tipped his hat, through all of Tirza’s cryptic quotes, you had me laughing. As always, extremely entertaining and amazingly clever, Patina! Loved it!
Author’s Response: Thank you, SP! I’m so happy to know this little story kept you laughing.

Patina you are a riot! Just when I was beginning to have some sympathy for Tizra as she was run down by the stagecoach….up pops me! What a twist – but a fantastic twist – to your story. Many thanks for taking the time to produce such an amusing and different birthday gift for this ‘old’ Yorkshire bird.
Author’s Response: Thank you, Dodo, for agreeing to let our imaginations run amok to entertain you. Poor Tirza–doomed from the moment she met Joe (lol). Maybe she could come back as a zombie! (LOL) I’m so pleased to know you enjoyed this silly tale.

“The young fall in love as easily as leaves drop from a tree.” No kidding, P!
My favorite part was this exchange after Hoss catches Joe and Tirza making out:
“Where’s your brother?” asked Ben as Hoss closed the door.
“Making that girl feel right at home,” replied Hoss.
Excellent job, P!
Author’s Response: Thank you, Jo! I’m thrilled to know you enjoyed this little story. And thank you for telling me your favorite part.

Hilarious, Patina! I love how Cochise works under threat!! That Joe. So fickle. Loved it!!
Author’s Response: Thanks, G! Can you blame Cooch? (lol) Young love is often fleeting, as in this story.

Oh, lordy, this one had me in stitches from start to finish…loved Ben’s comments about Adam being just as ready to fall in love at Joe’s age, and Adam’s unanswerably logical response…. The touch of tragedy was beautifully handled but the final resolution had me laughing harder than ever! What a magnificient birthday present for the very fortunate Dodo!!
Author’s Response: Thank you, sk! I’m so tickled to know you laughed from beginning to end. Teen Adam must have been quite a bit like Joe when it came to pretty young ladies. Thank you so much for letting me know you enjoyed this little tale.

Author’s Response: Thank you, Pat! I’m glad to know you enjoyed this bit silliness.

Oh, Patina . . . that’s priceless. Best lines:
Joe asked, “How long did you know my mother before you married her?”
“More than one day.” Ben picked up the pencil and again studied the ledger. “It’s past time for bed. Go on up. If you still love her in the morning, you can discuss marriage with her.”
What a great birthday gift for Dodo!
Author’s Response: Thank you, Cheaux! That Doreen sure is one lucky lady! (lol). I’m thrilled to know you loved that little discussion between Ben and Joe.

Great WHI tongue-in-cheek for this episode. I do sometimes wonder how Bonanza made it past the first season what with the silly writing of some episodes. Thanks for a wonderful laugh.
Oh dear. 😛 Well, as Ben said … Joe’s young. It doesn’t take much.
Not much at all, apparently. 🙂
Thank you, PSW. A pretty face is all a girl needs to pique Joe’s interest. 😉
Glad you enjoyed Dodo’s present. 🙂
This story was just what I needed tonight. “Those girls didn’t think they were fish”!!! I laughed till I couldn’t read! I can hear Adam say that. So funny.
Thank you, Neano. Gotta love a snarky Adam. 🙂
I’m so pleased to know you enjoyed this “fishy” little story.
