Winter Blues, Part 1

“Come on fellas! How long does it take to finish that post?”

“Dadburnit! After this we gotta fix that hole in the barn roof.”

“And after that, check the chimney. So what’s the rush, big brother?”

“The rush is it all needs to be done before the snow gets here.”

“Did he say snow, Joe?”

“Ha-ha! Adam. That sky is clear as a bell.

“It’s almost Christmas an’ we ain’t had a speck of snow.”

“Fine! I’ll get one of the hands to help me with the chimney and you two can fix the roof on the barn.”

“Fine.”

“Fine.”

Winter Blues, Part 2

“Mister Ben, why you pace? Wear out floor, no good.”

“Where are the boys, Hop Sing? They should be back by now. It’s much too dark and cold to work.”

“Mister Adam come back and fix chimney then go back outside. He complain about incompetent little brothers.”

“Well, I hope they fixed the barn roof? It leaks like a sieve.”

“Oh boy, Hop Sing hear yelling, not sound good.”

“Boys! What are you yelling…?”

“Look Pa, we got snow for Christmas!”

“Whichever son hit me with that snowball is going to get it!”

“Ha-ha, family happy. Winter blues all gone.”
