***** SEASON NINE *****
Second Chance
Doggone Joe! That doesn’t look good, not good at all. I only hope the arrow didn’t pierce the lung. Help? Dadburnit! We’re out here in the nowhere. Doggonit, little brother, don’t watch me like this. I’m as scared as you are. I know what I have to do, but I’m scared, Joe.
Get it out of there! Easy to say. How Joe? One hard pull or slow and smooth? What inflicts the least damage? What hurts less?
I’m sorry Joe, I’m so sorry, but you’re right, the arrow has to come out. I have to get that arrow out, Dang!

Commitment at Angelus
Adam tried to teach me everything he knew about mines. I can’t say I ever paid much attention. My interests have always been situated above ground. I silently thank him now for every attempted lesson. I also thank pa for encouraging me to listen to my instincts. As we step into the mine at Angelus, all the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Fear makes me proceed cautiously. Then the evidence presents itself. A piece of the first beam we encounter comes off in my hand. This place is coming down. It’s only a matter of time.

The Bottle Fighter
I stepped to the porch, the coffee pot in my hand. I stopped at the corner watching my little brother who was sitting at the table and starring at the clear sky. I studied him in the profile for a moment. He looked so young.
“Joe?” I saw him wince at my voice. “Some more black coffee?”
It took him an instant to leave this thoughts and he eyeballed me.
“Yeah, sure.” A smile ran over his face before it turned contemplative again.
“You know Hoss, I was really scared losing you.”
Our eyes met and I nodded without speaking.

Truly marvelous little gems. I enjoyed them all, but the final one of Season One really gripped me, Beej.
These are amazing! I love the way writers squeeze extra bits out of the episodes and the sheer variety of style. Great job!
It’s so much fun not only to read but also to write these lines.
Hope some members go on expanding ‘Little Bit’. At least I will try. There are still some episodes to go.
I’ve read all of these and they are priceless! Some made me laugh but most made me think about the soulful sentiments portrayed so well in the little tid-bits! Thanks to all the writers involved for a delightful time!
I haven’t read all of season 1 yet, but I am enjoying these short stories.
What a clever idea for stories. These are wonderful. I’ve only just started to read them. Can’t wait to get to the rest.
You can thank Freyakendra for the original Little Bit idea that blossomed into this challenge.
