Little Bit Challenge – 2015

The Little Bit Challenge

The Little Bit Challenge encouraged the members in the Forums to write a ‘Little Bit’ for every Bonanza episode (all 431, if possible).  This challenge is open to all Forum members, not just those who are authors in the Library.  Members may submit as many Bits for as many episodes as they wish.  Multiple members may submit Little Bits for the same episode.

The Rules:

  1. Little Bits are episode-based scenes or vignettes limited to either 100 words or 200 words.  The challenge lies within the word limit. For those with a muse who just won’t cooperate, a few words over or under will be accepted, but the goal is to get as close to the word limit as possible.
  2. Limit characters to Canon or Canon characters who are not in the episode (e.g., an absent Cartwright or maybe Roy or maybe their mothers).  Vignettes can be WHB, WHN, Missing Scenes, or a character’s musings of the events.
  3. Specify the episode. Some Canon Characters may appear to fit more than one episode (e.g., Walter, The Rossi family, Laura and Peggy, Cousin Will, Cousin Clarissa, Cousin Muley, etc.) or the two episodes entitled The Deserter (Season 4 vs Season 10).
  4. Nothing R-rated.

  1. It’s so much fun not only to read but also to write these lines.
Hope some members go on expanding ‘Little Bit’. At least I will try. There are still some episodes to go.

  2. I’ve read all of these and they are priceless! Some made me laugh but most made me think about the soulful sentiments portrayed so well in the little tid-bits! Thanks to all the writers involved for a delightful time!

    1. You can thank Freyakendra for the original Little Bit idea that blossomed into this challenge.
