Summary: Part two of Two Feathers.  Ben has no idea what has happened to his youngest son, only that Joe has been missing for weeks. Forced by impending snow, Ben calls off his search and returns home without finding a trace of the young boy whom he loves dearly.  Heartbroken and defeated, his son’s fate unknown, Ben is forced to wait out the long, lonely winter, his winter of hope.

When Joe’s temper gets the better of him and he screams out an obscenity, unknowingly cutting his usually reserved brother to the deepest core, Adam retaliates. The end result happens when brother must save brother from a pair of thugs with a grudge against Adam.

Summary: While being held prisoner by a gang of bank robbers, Joe makes contact with a man from his past.  Confused by why this certain person is associated with the bandits, Joe struggles to put the pieces of the puzzle into one.  Not until much heartache later is the truth revealed to him, and then it is up to Joe to learn to forgive.
