As Ben needs time too himself to grieve, it is up to his youngest son to pick up the responsibilities around the ranch and push aside his own feelings to allow his father this time. Moving from one responsibility to the next keeps Joe from thinking about the tremendous loss he feels until a couple of days later when he comes across a letter in his father’s desk addressed to him………from his brother, Hoss.
